problem with rear speakers in punto since new hu fitted

wondering if anyone can help,
i got a 2001 mk2 punto ever since i fitted a blaupunkt casablanca mp56 hu to it, the rear speakers and sub make a popping sound when the engine's turned on or even if just the electrics are switched on, there's no popping sound at all if the electrics and engine are off, for now i've just disconnected the rear speakers, but would be good to get it all working again
anyone got any clue on what this might be?

is it just a single pop when the electrics are on or does it pop repeatedly? if you just disconnet the sub, does it still pop? at lower volumes, doe it still pop?

My sub pops when i first turn the head unit on... or is it continous?

Its aounds like a wiring prob somewhere (obv i know). Are your rear speaker and sub powered by the same amp? or are you using the standard fiat built in sub and speakers?

its a continuous loud popping, the subwoofer stops if i turn the volume up then down again, but the rear speakers just don't shut it, and all the sound system is just the standard one in a punto sporting

any amplifiers? i would check the earths.

no amps, just the hu, where do i check the earths,
am really clueless on this subject so excuse the dumbness

May even be a faulty HU to be honest. if you were running a non standard sound system then i would say that its probably a wiring problem somewhere, but if all you have done is to replace the HU and it doesn't do it when you put your old HU back in then i would definitely send it back. May be a fault suppressor or something.

is it the standard factory fit sub?

yeah its the standard sub, but all speakers work perfect when the electrics and engine are off, hope the hu isnt faulty, could do without the sodding hassle

try putting your old HU back in and see if it still does it. If not, i would suggest its the HU

i'll do that tomorrow, knowing my luck that'll be the case, and all speakers worked fine with the factory hu,

and if that's the case would i just contact blaupunkt and say that it's under guarantee etc.?

how long you had the unit? normally a years guarantee with proof of purchase.

only got it in september so well in guarantee, mind you there's a part of me that can't be arsed with it, the front speakers and sub work fine, and the sound quality's brilliant
