Newbie Needs Help With Flashing JVC Radio

Hi Everyone!

Searched all threads and came to realise that radios and Fiats with computer control (mine's a 2006 Punto 1.2 Dynamic) can be a dodgey thing. Read some horror stories where folks changed their radio & it ceased functioning.
My car came equipped with a JVC KD-G322 CD/MP3 player-RDS radio ; I have no idea if it was factory or owner (car was a dealer's lease unit) installed. Had the owner's manual (thankfully in English) in the glove, but after a thorough read-thru (as a former backline tech for well-known bands who has an electronic technician's diploma, I'm not a total Luddite ...), but am still not able to get the display to stop flashing "0000_A" as I toodle down the road - bloody distracting! I can access all functions, and am able to scroll thry the display to see the clock, name of station (which is what I would prefer to see in the display all the time), frequency, etc., but after 5 sec. of no pressing it goes back to flashing "0000_A"!

Thought about finding the fuse to the radio and pulling it for a "hard reset", but after reading all the horror stories I'm having second thoughts. Would go back to the dealer where I purchased it only as a last resort, as Finnish car dealers are one step above pond scum in the food chain, and I know they'll want to charge me for this...

Any info or input would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers in advance,

Cheers, mog !
That did the trick - removed front panel, gently inserted an open safety pin into the tiny hole, and voilá! Reset the clock, preferences, etc. - and it even didn't lose my preset radio stations!
Brilliant, gents!
Love my Fiat - LOVE the Forum!

ATB,
