GP with Grundig HU?

Hi everyone!

I have a 1.3MJ GP and a 5th gen. iPod and with that I think I told the main story.

I took out yesterday the HU to write down the connections (why don't they have this information in the user guide anyway?). I was expecting a Blaupunkt HU, and instead I found out, that my HU is probably a Grundig. If I am correct, it's type is F199 CD. Nonetheless, I couldn't find any relevant info about this HU, except that it exists.

Also, the info on the HU is very mininal, 3 connectors, the lower one has the CAN connection (2 wires), the middle one connects to the speakers and I no info on the third and biggest connector. Probably the connection to the CD changer...

So, my questions:
- Has anyone a more detailed information about this HU and its connections? (Maybe experience with the Fiat accessory for connecting iPod?)
- Is there a third party HU, that can be connected to the steering wheel controls? I found some old threads here, but no recent info. I wouldn't want to change the HU if I loose steering wheel control...

Any news on this? I am trying really hard to get an iPod connected to my Grundig F199CD / GHT1400 head unit, but neither the original Fiat nor the Dension Gateway for Fiat Grundig OEM work. Is this thing MCD 36 /46 compatible?
