1.4 16v lightweight flywheel

Hi,

I'm in the process of organising a custom made flywheel from TTV for my 1.4 16v Cinq and wondered if there was anyone else interested in getting one at the same time?

As far as I'm aware the flywheel is shared with the Stilo, Idea and more importantly, the Panda 100HP. Also suspect it to be the same as 500s and Puntos using this engine. Is different to the Abarth models though. It's also a good upgrade on Cinqs or Seis running more power, e.g. turbo'd. I will double check all Fiats using this flywheel and confirm on Monday.

No idea on price yet but if a few people are interested I will see what TTV can do. I would expect price to be around the 300 mark though.

I had a TTV flywheel on a 155 Twin spark and was one of the best mods I've ever done.

Re: 1.4 16v lightweight flywheel

I know people use these on Clio track and race cars and they are very well made, light and reliable.

I could be interested but not until after new year as we're moving house and in no hurry to spend any money on the cars at the moment.

Some years ago, I had a Mini with a 1400cc A+ engine. 110bhp with a ported head and road/rally camshaft etc. Went like a rocket!

I took the flywheel to an engineering company run by a mate, and we fitted it into a lathe and turned off loads of steel to lighten it. The lightened flywheel made a huge difference to the pick-up of the engine. Excellent modification!

Any road up, why not do as I did?
You have to take the flywheel off anyway, so why not get it lightened whilst it's off?

Good luck,
Mick.
