Hey all. As some of you know fitting a 6 speed box will make the wheel fit the end of the box, so the only option is to fit something to stop it turning that far, otherwise you will fail the MOT. Getting some aluminium steering lockers made in the next few days that will reduce the lock to 2.5 turns. They are 22mm long 35mm diameter and 23mm bore. Correct size according to this thread:

https://www.fiatforum.com/cinquecento-seicento/129018-reducing-steering-lock-who-how-where-when.html

He wants £25 for the 2, with a possibility of cheaper with more pairs. Thats delivered. Am sure slight variations could be sorted out if required.

If interested please let me know ASAP. Dan

I machined my own out of nylon. MUCH better then alloy as its not as harsh when you hit them on full lock. should be cheaper then alloy to.
also you can make them a tight fit so they wont slide about.

im removing mine soon as i plan to space the wheels out to clear the box because i NEED my lock back.

you can have them if you want but they are for a pas seicento rack which has a much thicker shaft so will be a bit loose in the cinq rack iirc

maybe ill look into the nylon then. :D

I cant space my wheels out far enough as they are already spaced 14mm iirc, then the engine is about 4mm further over, etc.

Thanks for the offer will see if i can pick some up cheaply to play with. (y)

Where did you get the nylon from out of interest?

ebay, material suppliers, machine shop should be able to get it.

i made mine from a old motorcycle crash bobbing.

how did you move the engine over?

btw you need to bare in mind that the dimentions you have from kristians thread are for a PAS rack which ARE different if you have just the standard cento,

length and external diameter "should" be the same but the bore is not.
