Ive spoken to forge and they said that because their is no demand for a intercooler on the 1.3's they wont be making one specifically for it. Apparently i was the first to ask.

Anyway i was wondering who would be interested in a intercooler and just let them know if it is quite a lot of people, as they might produce one. (y)

I will also be testing the 1.9 version intercooler on my car to see how it performs as no-one i know has done it yet turbo lag might not be a issue :D. They might not even have to make one for the 1.3's.

im sure the 1.9 one would fit, might just need some different hardpipes, but a decent exhaust place should be able to fabricate some for you...

yeah, glenny22 emailed forge, and they reckon the 1.9 inter-cooler would give us enough power and to trial that. it would be cheaper to.
gsr is also going to make us an induction kit for the 1.3 to :)

Think mines already got it on cause it measure the same. But i love the look of the big intercooler on the front, gives the car some character.

hi there i have just spoken to forge aswell they said the same thing but i have news for anyone attempting the same thing i said can you make one custom made and they said they can they need drawings etc core dimensions and brackets to supply one there is always trwperformance if you want to take a trip to portugal i will be getting these drawings and sending off for order as soon as i can

Ah, well that might explain why i can't find 1 then. Only reason i want 1 is to hear the turbo flutter (sad i know) and to try and drown out the diesel clatter (that'll be 2 reasons then ). Are BMC any good btw? Its the only company i've found that do 1 for the 1.3 mjet, unless forge do 1?

Hello.

Are GSR still making an induction kit for the 1.3 mjet? Im toying with getting the BMC one but if GSR are doing one i might wait and get that :)

Don't think they ever made one.
one has been made. its sat in my garage, I couldn't quite get it fitted, so was going to get him to come round. il try and get him round soon, or have another crack at it.

I am well up for the forge inter cooler and the Gsr kit dependant on price that is all but that shouldn't be a massive problem

sorry for the kick, but i bought a bigger fmic for my punto evo 1.3 mjet.
forge didn't make them but TRW does. it's plug&play with all stuff.

searched after stuff like this for about 1 year (n)

Jarre, can you please show us a couple of images of the TRW intercooler fitted to your Mjet? (y)

When you were fitting did you notice any increase/decrease of the silicone pipes coming in and out of the intercooler?

I'm also looking to upgrade the FMIC but the 1.9Mjet one is more than likely a larger diameter bore and getting smooth airflow in and out of it through the piping an be challenging from what I have been reading about the home made GSR intake kit, whilst its also quite important on forced induction engines.

Humour.

Count me in also for the group buy.

If we get enough numbers for a group buy though, we should ask forge to make the piping too. It shouldn't cost that much more per unit and it shouldn't be too difficult for them to produce a batch of 10/20 units which is much more easily justifiable. We can all then get a ready to bolt on kit ;)(y)

If they need a donor car, I'm sure we can organise that from here. I don't mind leaving them with my GP as a donor.

Hum
