Right i should be getting myself some more sound deadening this month and after a bit of interest from other users i have decided to set up a group buy to get some discount on this already cheap deadening material.
This is the thread from the original seller.

The sound deadening is 4mm thick (dB Drag legal) and comes in 2 ways.
  • 1m x 1m sheet
  • 5 pieces of 50 x 25 cm each = 0,625 m2

They both work out at £30 each. But if your looking to order 5 or more than I can work out some discount. :D

I have had a few people ask about posting the sound deadening. So I have worked out a good offer. :D

Im able to post upto 3 sheets in a parcel and it would only require me to cut the sheet in half for you. The postage should cost £10 with DHL next day, But I will do this for £5. Please not that this would be per 3 sheets.

If you would like any more info please ask.

Thanks.
So if you are after some let me know so i can get an idea on the quantity that im after and the number of delivery addresses so i can contact the seller and work out how much discount he is willing to offer to us.

I have personally used this and the fact that i am ordering more shows that i like it :D

Just thought I would start the ball rolling on the thread even though you already know what I want!!

Probably but I like to hear that one ;) Besides which, it's slow enough without me adding extra weight :D

Anyone able to guestimate what I'd need to do the Sei? Can't imagine it'd be much if you guys only need 3 to do a GP!

3 will do doors of a GP if done properly but as a rule of thumb one sheet per door (inner and outer skin) and 3rd to do the majority of the rear quater panels and possibly wheel well.
It all depends on how anal you wana go.

Well the guy seems to have a plentiful supply so this doesnt need to be a 1 off i dont mind helping the seller and you guys out by keeping this as an on going thing, well see what he has to say about the matter.

I could do with some deadening im guessing, with how loud my system is!

The one place that shakes most and makes a ratteling noise is the rear auter where the bump strip is. if you put the slightest bit of pressure on it it stops rateling, would deadening help this?

I realy havent got a clue about deadening.. where else would i deaden?

Well in the boot if you were to do the rear quaters then this stuff would be the best for the Job seeing that its 4mm thick rather than the standard 2mm like other stuff.
If you have a look underneath the car if its that loud you will see the spare wheel well flexing probably less so if you have the wheel in there but mine flexes like a gymnast.
Then as much of the rest of the boot as you can afford.
Then there is a lot of resonance in the doors so a couple of sheets (1 per door) will make a vast difference even to the standard speakers.

Right i just got this through from the seller. I just need to confirm the postage as the 1m sheets are cut in half, and when i got mine it was 3x1/2 sheets per parcel so 3 full sheets i would imagine to be 2 parcels but i think 2 full sheets would still be 1 parcel if that makes sense.

Hi Stuart,

Yes thats a good idea. I would be able to offer the sheets at £22 a sheet but this would only be able to happen for people that buy more than 2 sheets.

I would still offer the postage at only £5 per parcel which is,

  • 3 sheets max of 4mm
  • 5 sheets of 2.5mm

Hope this helps. If you have any more questions please ask.

Thanks.

Darren
