On da way 2 a new mission
in uprated clutch for GP 1.9.

Depending on you guys and gals are requiring and worries are, I am looking into providing one or possibly two different uprated clutches.

Uprated clutches haven't only got advantages, but the advantages usually outweigh the disadvantages.

The idea is to raise with an induction kit, possible further engine revisions, exhaust, bespoke remaps and the uprated clutch the tuning capabilities of the GP 1.9.

Any constructive comments are welcome.

Oh it would be of interest. If I seriously wanted one would depend on price. i think anyone wanting more power, would seriuosly consider this.

An up rated clutch is one thing, but you don’t want to move outside the design limits of the M32 gearbox. For the higher output Alfa’s fiat moved to the F40 gearbox as mated to the 2.4 JTDM (200bhp 400nm peak) and the 3.2JTS V6 (260bhp 322nm peak), the M32 is used with the 2.2 JTS (180bhp 230nm) and the higher output 16v 1.9 JTDMs (150 bhp 320nm Peak)

From what I have read the M32 6 speed box was designed to have a max working load of 320nm, so pushing above that will not help its life.

good points....the engine is good for 190 bhp... but with a custom remap, the torque can be limited, to save the life of the gearbox.....

with increasing power and touque. your putting more load on parts with they weren't designed for. if u uprate the clutch, u put more on the gearbox. better box u then pass it to the diff and so on. when i was doing this with my last car (nova:yuck: ) i was breaking driveshafts before the box went bang. warranty is a big issue here, i would leave it till it goes then consider. thats if its not slipping.
