Apart from the wheel size and about a grand in price, is there a major difference between the 1.4 Sporting and the Dynamic?

Also, has anyone driven the 1.4 Sporting and the 1.9? Again, how do the two drive compared to one another? Looking at Fiat's site, the 1.4 petrol is more economical but the 1.9 is about 1.5 seconds quicker to 60 and top speed wise (not that I would ever get near)

Hey Vickster

When I was looking at the GP, I was in two minds between the 1.4 & the 1.9 Sporting, mainly for costs reasons. I took the 1.4 Sporting out for a test drive first and thought it was nice... then I took the 1.9 out and WOW, what a difference in power! After sitting around in the showroom for a while i couldn't make my mind up so I took the 1.4 out again and this time gave it a bit of welly to see what it could do (first time I took it out I was being really careful!) The acceleration from 1st to 2nd was good but I thought that between 2nd and 3rd was really flat even though my foot was to the floor. Since I had a Saxo VTR before this, I liked having the "ummf" factor when you put your foot down and the 1.9 sure does give you that so I went for the 1.9 and I love it to pieces :)

I have the 1.9 and I have test driven the 1.4
It is just like Bulldog Bish said. In the 1.4 you seem to stall in 3rd gear and upwards, while in the 1.9 its party time all the way to 6th.
And the 1.9 being a diesel has a lot less consuption than the 1.4 petrol.

The only downsides to the 1.9 are the extra noise of the diesel and the extra money you have to pay to get it.
