was just havin a look at what models are in the 2007 range and theres a few more. the 1.4 sporting costs about 500 quid more now but seems to have a Dual cam engine opposed to the single cam i thought my 1.4 16v has. also has 16" front alloys to improve its turning circle i think.

16 inch on the front and 17 on the rear???

also, slightly off topic, but is the 1.9 a 16v engine or not?

Still the 8v 1.9L diesel.

Look on the UK website they have wierd specs for the wheels.

The 1.9L Sporting

Front Tyres 175/65 R17 T
Rear Tyres 205/45 R17 T

The 1.4L 16v Sporting

Front Tyres 175/65 R16 T
Rear Tyres 205/45 R17 T

Looks like a typo to me.

Troy.

Defnitely a typo, I can just imagine it with 175/65 tyres on the front, would look ridiculous :p

i've seen that too on fiat.co.uk. i belive they did that in order to make room for the new fiat bravo, which has engines upwards of the 90hp diesel multijet.

luckily, i've just completed my order here in Romania and managed to order the 90hp version of the diesel engine.

later edit: it seems bravo's diesel engines start from 120bhp... the 90bhp diesel engine might have simply vanished. come to think of it, might be a clear marketing move, so that the grande punto does not steal market share from the new bravo.

want a day to day, not so powerfull diesel? get the grande punto. want a performance diesel? get the new bravo. the 90bhp diesel is still available as an option in the car configurator.

eXecu7or, this is off topic but can you please tell me where the pic in your avatar is from? I see those pics everywhere and it's driving me nuts!! :p

it was me that posted them up, but it got moved into the leisure lounge and got lost because of the speed that section moves.

do a search for avatar pics in leisure lounge, or all threads started by meand you will find it. hth.

Thanks guys :)

I've seen quite a few with different cars in that same style on other car forums, they look cool (y)

Back on topic, the Fiat Australia website hasn't updated with any changes yet. I hope we are getting them eventually.

Has anyone actually purchased an 07 GP yet?

I emailed Fiat Australia about the 07 GP recently (a couple of weeks ago) and they do not know anything about any changes to the car. As far as they are concerned, the 07 cars are the same as the 06 cars.

Troy.

with regards the Australasian Specs, we prob wont see '07 spec cars until 08! haha we are always about 6-8 months behind europe, they care just getting them within the next month so it'll be very late on this year at the earliest.
BTW this is not official, this is just my thinking on it!

edit: cheers TroyO!

I suppose you mean this is not official. :)

Yeah, that's the way I think about it as well, I just live in hope that they would be more proactive about getting the latest models here. I think it is important if they planning for a long term future in Australia. That, and a 17 year wait for cars has made me somewhat impatient. :bang:

Ah but TroyO think of this:
to build the cars they are on a production line, each country that Fiat supply has their own different assembly so we have to wait till it gets to Australia/NZ's turn. Then add in the 6 weeks to Singapore to change ships for the 3 weeks down here to us. it all adds up!
As you can tell i often get this question when people want a car they have to order from the factory! lol
I dont think we will see the 07MY until we see the Abarth. and from what i hear, it's well worth the wait!

I understand the issue of production runs and the time it takes to get here, it would be nice though to know that the importer knows something about impending releases and when they may be here, rather than taking the we don't know approach. That happened to me with another to be left unnamed brand (which are imported by the same people as it happens). I had been enquiring about a model in a particular spec, and response I got was there were no plans to release it. I bought another car and then 6 months later they release it. :bang:

ah is that the French Lemon? haha well, almost!
yes it is fustrating, imagine what it's like for dealers who have people like yourself coming in wanting to know more but we cant do/say anything as the importer wont tell us! not nice!
i think their way of thinking is that if they start to mention the "new MY07" cars then they will have people waiting for the new model and be left with lots the current run.
Importers eh! who'd have! haha nah, i have to say ours are great and help us out a lot when needed. cant complain there really.

If i hear anything i will post it on here for you though (we have the same importer after all!)

Well according to the UK site the Sport is now available in white (for GP 07), no reason why they can't have it here as well (when MY finally arrives).
