I want to put a power hook up on the back of my gp, need one for a light board so i can use a bike rack, dont want a full tow bar, just the plug. Are these around and can they be hidden behind the rear bumper as i would rather it not been able to be seen??

All you'd need to do is make up some kind of bracket. Would be quite easy.

halfrauds do a kit but you'll still need the relay but it's be cheaper to buy the bits loose and DIY,,,

you need a pack of scotch hooks
a 7 way by-pass relay
a flasher relay
a length of 7 core wire
a length of twin core (tap into the fused suply at the rear fuse box and earth)
a fuse and fuse holder (for supply from fuse box)
and a 12 N socket or inline socket

As the GP has a bulb failure circuite you need the 7 way by-pass relay to prevent the bulb failure circuite from going mad when you plug your light board in you wire each circuit into the bypass relay and it powers the light board from the fue board supply,,,

www.towsure.com is the cheapest place i found
you could get away with tucking a 12N inline (female) flying socket int he spair wheel well then put the light baord socket into the boot and plug it in...

halfrauds kit might not work as it draws curent from the lights circuit confusing the bulb failure warning system you nee the ecu from the fiat tow bar kit to tell the ecu to ignore it

not wanting to sound a jumped up c~~t pip i did say that...

"halfrauds do a kit but you'll still need the relay but it's be cheaper to buy the bits loose and DIY"

you need a 7 way bypass relay....

what you do is instead of wiring it directly is take a feed off the loom for each circuit into the relay and from the relay to the socket..

the relay has a common live feed from the battery or supply of the rear near side boot fuse board. and a connection to earth..

what happens is when a light comes on (be it an brake light or indicator) is that the relay circuit switches the relay over taking a very small feed from the the cars light circuit and provides the lighting board with the power it needs directly from the battery and not the circuit the light is on. such a small variation in current draw through the relay coil the bulb failure system wont pick it up....

The towbar co (who fits them on behalf of the local fiat dealer) uses a ryder relay unit

you will still need a bleeper in line with the indicator supply to let you know it is working.

the relay you want is one like this

and a sounder

a socket

just dont ask me the wiring colours for the fiat harness :D
half an hour removing the clusters and testing with a 12v light pen the should give you a good idea ;-)

All sounds a bit complicated, might just go to towsure as recommended and get them to sort it out, or go see what fiat has to say
