Recalls & Known Fault/issues.
Recalls;
5096 - Fitment of new lower steering cowling. 5 star NCAP rating.
5119 -Airbag software update. Warning light can briefly come on at start up.
5299 - Heater wiring.Fit clip to wiring loom, NOT related in anyway to resistor/connector failure.
5397 - Lower steering shaft Check of bolt torque setting, NOT connected to ANY power steering issues.
Known faults/issues;
It is recommended that the vehicle is correctly checked as this list is only intended as a GUIDE and NOT applicable in all cases/models/year of manufacture.
Fault - Noise when turning
Cure - Top strut bearings
Fault - Knock while driving
Cure - Drop link (check for movement)
Fault - Smell of oil - breather hose/pipe (split)
Cure - modified hose & pipe
Fault -Tailgate not opening
Cure - water on connector at lock, clean connector @ fit new lock.
Fault - Power steering light on - sometimes with noise/creak from column area
Cure - Various causes (power supply,column,connections)
Fault - Dashboard top vent trim - the long trim which directs air
to windscreen can distort & stick up at drivers side
Cure - fitment of new trim.
Fault -Drivers door - not opening from inside.
Cure - requires lock
Fault - Electric window(s) not working
Cure - poor/loose connection at drivers door switchbank.
Fault - Rear manual window not moving
Cure - Regulator seized, fit new regulator *TIP operate weekly to prevent seizure *
Fault - High coolant temperature warning,normally at start up.
Cure - software update
Fault - Horn - requires a firm press to operate.
Cure - lubrication of horn contacts DANGER airbag - dealer only!
Fault -Rear doors - sticking intermittently from outside
Cure - modified outer door handles available.
Fault - Headlights staying on
Cure - water in engine bay fusebox/connections
Fault - Screeching noise from starter motor when starting
Cure - battery voltage low, get battery tested correctly and/or fit battery (360a)
Fault - Heater fan not working or only works on some speeds
Cure - depends on fault look here
N.B. Don't be put off by this list, a lot of owners don't even notice some of these issues however when buying second hand it's work checking and asking the seller about the vehicles history and above all enjoy you GP.
