Thumbs up Sick of complaints? Praise your GP here!!!

anyone else tired of hearing everyones complaints about the GP? i think the car is amazing, i love driving the car and think that for its price you could not get a better looking car, normally other car manufacturers would want thousands more for such a stylish car! anyone with me? praise your GP right here ladies and gentlemen!!!!

Re: Sick of complaints? Praise your GP here!!!

I agree people should show more praise here i have said it many times before.
I have now done 11500 miles without any problems. I also think a lot of people could solve many of their issues just by reading the owners manual. I may have been lucky with the build quality of my car, i dont know but it seems it is the same people having most of the problems with the gp and the fact is it is only a small few who have grounds to complain. I do feel sorry for those who have problems with their cars but that's why we have 3 years warrantee.
I love my GP.

Well it's about bloody time

After reading this forum for a few months is seems like 9/10 people have multiple problems with their car. I'd also like to hear some good news for a change so praise away!

Convince me why I should buy one.

Re: Sick of complaints? Praise your GP here!!!

buy one turbo diesel even if the earlier models had problems, no manufacturer makes a new car with no problems its standard to have faults even though they shouldn't but no car is perfect until customers have them and the cars are re-made with known problems, so buying a GP now should have no problems, or very few! i love my GP although its my first car im sure i will be keeping it for a very very long time!

Re: Sick of complaints? Praise your GP here!!!

I do actually like my sporting 1.9, despite the fact its riddled with problems it has never actually bean amongst many of the more expensive cars you see so regularly on the hard shoulder in all of its 10,300 mile glory ;p

Hopefully get the little problems sorted out when I take it back on Jan 8th, it has lots of poke theres only about 10% of the cars I come up against that can live with me and when I get a few mods done to it and the ECU remap 4th of Feb it'll be even better.

For the money, its great.

Re: Sick of complaints? Praise your GP here!!!

Hello,

I am from Paris and read every day this excellent forum.
I agree that we should praise this car.
I have a grande punto 1.9 mjt collezione. I am very happy with it and enjoy to drive it : good engine, very nice car...
And we may all read the user guide a few times.
Here in France on the forums, most of the people are very happy with their grande punto.

Thank you and keep posting !

Re: Sick of complaints? Praise your GP here!!!

Yeah its a shame people only tend to post either when:

1.) They are too f**king lazy / dump to RTFM (Don't know what it means google it ).

2.) They really have a problem

This means the GP section is mostly compiled with people complaining about real problems or user issues that could be easily solved by #1.

I'll add my piece now by saying that my time owning my ex GP Sporting was very pleasurable and only really had a couple off annoying problems but nothing I would class as serious. It was probably the best car I've owned and I've owned 5:

Fiat Punto mk2 W-reg 1.2 8v
Fiat Punto mk2b 05 Reg Sporting 1.4 16v
Skoda Fabia vRS TDI PD 05 Reg <---- Was a piece of s**t and was in the dealer no less than 5 occasions which they CHARGED me for as they didn't believe there was something wrong!.
Fiat Grande Punto 06 Sporting 1.9 JTDm <---- Would still have it if my circumstances weren't f**ked at the moment .
Alfa Romeo S reg 2.0 Twin Spark <---- Love it as much as the GP

Amen to all the posts above

Am still looking at upgrading my Active Sport to a Sporting. If my house sale goes through then its a certainity!! If i get a fantastic price for the house then its climate, leather and skydome too!!

Wouldn't be doing it if i weren't happy with the car. Its had its niggles, but i have an excellent local Fiat dealer and its all been dealt with fine

You REALLY love you GP, selling the house and living in the car is extreme.

Seriously, my GP Sporting 1.9 is great, few little teething problems, if I was looking for another car I would buy again though.

Thumbs up Re: Sick of complaints? Praise your GP here!!!

I love it and enjoy it more every time I drive my 1.9 Sporting.

Few small probs but I think that the way the Dealer remedies and or reacts to your probs has almost as big a bearing on the enjoyment of your GP.
Bostons of Milford, near Stafford have made even my small problems easily sorted and detracted very little from my enjoyment.

It seems that again a lot of the problems people refer to on this forum are made worse by the way the Dealership treats them and attempts to remedy/repair them, Fiat really need to get to grips with the Dealer network, as I remember the guy they appointed in 2006 made it pretty clear that if Dealers were not up to the mark they would have to go!
Anyone seen or heard of this happening anywhere yet?

Re: Sick of complaints? Praise your GP here!!!

I should also have added that my car was one of the first to be delivered in the UK - 01 March 2006 to put to bed about early cars being bad ones.

I've heard that he seriously meant this BUT the problem is that the dealer network is so small.
No one wants to take on a car franchise these days....much more profitable things to sink your money into.....and you don't have to deal with employees, training them, dealing with members of the customers and new car deals with about £400 profit.
