| Mirror glass The missus has just picked up the car from the service desk of my dealer. It was in to check on squeeling brakes, a paint problem and the passenger mirror glass (which is loose). It's going back in next week to have the brakes and paint fixed but when she asked about the mirror glass she was told it was "just one of those things" .They said it can't be restuck so there's nothing they can do. Is this true? (I know there are a few mechanics on the forum so I'd like their opinion). My car is 3 months old, this can't be right surely? If they can't re-stick it should I tell them to order a whole new mirror (colour coded of course)? You might be able to tell I'm a little peeved (judging by the bruises on my keyboard )

| Re: Mirror glass This is the sort of attitude that would turn me incandescent - you paid for the damn thing and you expect things to work properly - if they don't, you want them fixed. I've reached the point now where I just present the dealer with a list. They get two chances to fix it after which I demand its replaced with a new part. It's an expectation thing, if you buy a 40p bar of chocolate and it doesn't taste the way you expected it's not a big deal - if you spend in excess of 10k and things don't work they are meant to it is a big deal as your expectations are higher. Don't be fobbed off, its not as if the dealers have to pay to fix it. My latest problem is with the screen washers. If i'm doing more than 10mph the water is just dumped at the bottom of the screen. "Its the way they are supposed to work" I was told. So if you are going past a lorry on the motorway and it chucks a load of muck on your screen that won't clear and the washers don't work and you have a crash...is that a design feature? No its a law suit againt Fiat!! Most of the niggles I have are quite minor but I want them fixed so that my level of expectation is satisfied. Rob (GP 1.4 16v Sporting New Orleans Blue)
