Collected the GP today Multijet 90bhp Diesel

Drove it for 8 miles parked up went and had a cup of Tea. Came back to it after 20 mins tried to start it and every warning light on the dash came on!!! it was lit up like an xmas tree
ABS, Airbag, steering, and break failure all at once also showing out of fuel speedo, rev counter indicators also not working!! but the car would run and drive ok and everthing else seemed ok.

Rang the dealer straigt away and as I was taking it back suddenly everything started working agian.

Lots of head scratching at the garage and a very red faced salesman. they plugged it in to a laptop and what a suprise everthing was OK "Must have been a software glitch" they said

anyway done another 50 miles since and all is OK just a bit worried that it might happen again

I think I'm going to start reccomending people get camera phones when they are trying to diagnose or report a fault. It's typical that a car will behave when at the dealers and play up once its home. Sounds like a typical naughty child!

mind oyu in that situation i assume it would be the same lights you would see with ignition on.
would scare the poop out of me in my new car

Yours is the first one with orange seats that I have been made aware of. Goes well with black.

Those lights will never come on again, don't worry.

You mean the control lights went on and stayed on for a while?

Well for like ten minutes with the engine running if thats what you call a while? with the LCD display listing all the problems and the beeper sounding for each fault it found:eek:

I must admit I do like the Orange interior it does go really well with the Black (that was the wifes :worship: choices so all the credit for that goes to her)

im not amused with mine my clutch pedal has started to sqeek when i press it up and down and my driver seat sqeeks aswell not amused at all

MINE DID THAT LAST WEEK....

I thought it was me went to H@lf0rds for some bike parts came out turned the key and all the warning lamps stayed on i had no indicators no rev counter fuel gauge speedo or temperature read out..

Tried restarting it several times and the same thing happened so thought B011oks to this and called the AA (12 months free) and got told they would be with me within an hour and a half :( Any how I got bored i popped the bonnet and removed the earth clamp (they are quick release no tools needed lever clamps) left it 5 Min's re attached and restarted and everything worked.. :slayer: called the AA and told them to cancel the call out and its been OK since so fingers crossed...

So it seems it IS a software glitch.

My Sporting did this yesterday morning, none of the dials working loads of errors and warning lights but the engine was running fine, left the car for an hour and all back to normal.

hope this isn't going to keep happening(n)

So the GP is not the car you want to use as your getaway car when you rob the local liquor store.:p

Mine did a similar thing... said it was overheating, first thing in the morning as it started. I was told it was because my brake light switch hadn't been adjusted with feeler guages! Do they take service staff to a special place and fill them with drugs that allow them to believe any bull****? Still it hasn't done it since they had it.

I am trying to get Fiat to respray my car as I'm not happy with the finish along the front of the bonnet or the top of the tailgate. Has anybody else got a really crappy finish? My car is New Orleans Blue.
