I have decided after fours years to fit one, I immediately noticed the difference, most importantly it seems to have eradicated the 1800-2000 slow driving hesitation which I am immensely pleased about. I made mine there are many for sale on eBay etc, but I used 1.5mm galvanised steel, I used the link pipe from the EGR valve to make a pattern and I used waxed gasket paper about 0.5mm to make two gaskets. I looked at ones on eBay and then estimated the size of the centre hole, judging by the ones that fit it(x2 6mm) I have put an 8mm hole through the centre, I’ve had no MIL light and all has worked exactly as it should. I guess the smaller the bypass hole the more effective the item will be but, I guess the purpose of the thread is to let anyone else who makes one know that an 8mm hole works fine.
