Does anyone know what type of flange is on our ihi turbos and manifolds? Is it a T20 or something different?

Looking for a flange for TD04L conversion and the only T-Jet manifold flanges I can find are to mate with a T25 flange on the turbo but a TD04L with a T25 inlet is about twice the price as one with a 3 bolt inlet. If I knew what flange the ihi had, it would be a lot easier to track down what I need.

TIA

I've got a vl37 ihi turbo in the living room.

I can give you the measurements; you should be able to figure out the flange .. or you could just custom make one, 10mm mild steel plate and a plasma cutter (or the better way: a drill, a hacksaw.. get some guys over for a few beers).

The main problem is not the flange, that's pretty easy.
it's the cooling, and oil lines. then the connection between the turbo and exhaust .

You keep your spare turbos in the living room. Repect! ?

If you could measure the ihi flange dimensions up it would be much appreciated. I've got drills and grinders etc so could probably knock one up and can get a friend to thread and make studs if required.

Going to get a 200 cell cat with TD04L flange from scara 73 or TMC, oil and water lines should be easy enough to fabricate or I can get from protoxide if it looks too difficult. Workshop manuals for TD04 are readily available.

Main worry is the injectors, need to find out if the 380cc need another rail some say yes, others no. Those that really know sell the parts and want to sell a whole kit and it's not really fair to hit them for info as I'm hoping to source the bits as cheaply as possible and do this all myself.

Well.. i had a quick go at measuring it:

I hope you can understand my crappy hand writing.
I see now, that the center hole is not centered .. and i have not measured the offset. I will do that later.

Here are some more doodles

I recommend drawing it on a piece of paper.
All measurements are from center of holes.. except the offset of the main hole.. that is from center of exhaust hole to edge of hole. (it is offset about 1.75mm)

Thanks, much appreciated. I'll get some plate and get something cobbled together.

First I think I'll diy a new air intake from some aluminium and silicone, just don't like that plastic pipe from the airbox at all.

Keep the air box.
You don't want hot air in the turbo (looses a lot of power), and there is the real risk of pinging.

A cone filter might sound cool, but you do loose power.
A cone filter in the wheel arch - wing.. is a PITA to clean/replace... so don't do it

Too old for cone filter noise :D

Fully intend keeping airbox, I just don't like the look of the factory piping, was thinking about upping the size to same diameter as the airbox outflow all the way to the turbo.
