Hi

My car has recently started jumping when driving in gears 1-4 (below 30mph or so) above that it seems to be fine. It's not every time I am driving only sometimes.

A warning light popped up on my dashboard on my way home (just before this) and according to the handbook it's an EOBD System Failure(pg 144)

My car is a 1.4 Grande Punto ('08 REG) and done approx. 70k Miles - I've recently had it serviced (a few weeks back)

Can anyone advise/give any thoughts on this? I was thinking of calling the AA out to get them to read the on board computer for any faults but i'm not going to that until I've tried here first

please let me know what your thoughts are! Thanks :)

What did garage do on service?
Is it good garage?

Yes you need to get codes read.
Or get multiecuscan , free down load, and a connector lead and read codes your self.

JJust to let you know I got the AA out who read the on board and found a fault on cylinder 3 it was reading misfire & temperature too high - popped the bonnet and unplugged cylinder 3 spark plug and it looked very warn - all others were fine. They left it with me to replace the spark plug since he didn't have any and no shops were open near me to buy any.

So we will see how it goes tomorrow

Change all four plugs at same time. Note miles at which you change them Then you will know miles at which they need changing again.

Replaced the dodgy plug first took it for a drive no problem so then replaced the other 3 and drives great. I'll take a note of the mileage that they are replaced on also as you suggest.

Going to now look into getting the connectors leads and multiecuscan so can check myself as well next time prior to calling out... you'll no doubt see esome post from me about it in the coming weeks as I wont be too sure on it haha

Cheers for suggestions guys!

Change all plugs. If the problem persists on the same cylinder replace the coil pack.
