Within the next month or two I'll be looking for a power boost for my Tjet. I think I've decided against just a remap and turbo back exhaust on the vl37 I'm hoping to get above 200bhp but nothing too insane. By the time this is done all suspension, steering and brakes will be replaced and I'll have a 2.5" custom cat back fitted. Downpipe and cat will be replaced to suit turbo.
From my research i reckon I've three options, first being VL36 which seems fairly straightforward and the other two are TD 04 from WRX or GT1446 from esseese. There seems to be a lot of conflicting info about these two and i have a couple of questions i hope someone can help with.
For the 1446 I know i need a downpipe with V band coupling and some new IC piping, 380 cc injectors, sensors and oil and water piping.
Is it possible to use the original Tjet manifold with some sort of flange or would the manifold from the Punto evo that runs a Garrett fit ok? Also wondering if it would really be necessary to change the oil filter and housing?
Problem with this conversion is price of turbo and manifold and possible oil filter issue.
If i could use the manifold from punto Evo then it may be possible to use the Garrett 1752 which i think was fitted to some Saab's? These can be picked up fairly cheap.
For the TD04, I'll need flange for original manifold, suitable downpipe and oil / water lines and possibly injectors, no mention that I've seen of new oil filter and housing.
Other than the TD04 being cheaper are there any pros / cons to the two set ups?
Cheers
Ben
