Hi Guys,

Im looking to replace my gear linkage cables due a really sloppy gear change.

Due to the ridiculously high price for the cables for the 1.9 Punto, Does anyone know if cables from astras/bravos etc with the same engine/gearbox would fit?

I know its a long shot but cables for the other vehicles are less than half the price!

doubt that it will fit, you can remove yours and measure cable

I guess You've already checked for any mechanical loose at the lever and gearbox ends of the cables ... ?

Thanks for the replies guys. I will take the cables off when I get some time and have a measure.

The looseness is on one of the cables and it appears to be the rubber bushing through which the cable is attached to the gearbox (selector lever?).

Would it be possible to just repair the bushing with a cup like the old days?
