Hi,
I have a 2006 1.4 Sporting.
I want to replace the heater control panel, as the facia clips on it are broken and some effort is required when pressing the HRW, air con and recirculating air buttons. The unit also contains the temp, direction and blower controls. These work fine.
Can anyone advise if this item can be bought new from anywhere...?
I've previously bought a couple of second hand ones which just had the same issues.
Fiat dealer quoted £200 ish to supply and fit some time back.
From what I've read, the unit isn't too difficult to swap out.
Same goes for dash top vent. Like many others, mine has popped up drivers side.
Can these be bought new anywhere ...?
And is it a straightforward replacement job..?
Dealer quote around £70.
Many thanks in advance for any help.
Cheers.

Cool. Thanks. Think I am resigned to dealer supply and fitment of heater control if I want a new one .... or is it perhaps possible to buy just the heater control unit cover ... ? Presumably this has the buttons in it which make contact with the controls on the unit ..... it's because all the cover clips on mine are broken that the 3 buttons don't make proper contact ......

Hi, don't know about the heater panel but the top vent on my wife's GP popped up so I removed the vent and drilled a couple of holes in the extreme edges, ensururing there was an overlap with the dash and screwed it down with self tappers. I had to paint the screws black as I only had SS ones, cheap, cheerful and effective.

Hi, I like the sound of that, like you said cheap and cheerful! For something which is hardly seen, that would do for me, especially as a replacement part is £45, for a small piece of plastic! In comparison, I got a rear top spoiler for £50.
Anyway, could you upload some photos to show how it looks, where the screws are, so I could get a visual and do the same, and also give an explanation as to how you screwed it back in, as the area between the dash and screen is really tight, so can't imagine how you got a screwdriver in there.
It would be of great help and save us some money, well for those who are happy with cheap and cheerful at least anyway.
Thanks in advance.

Hopefully you will see piccys, I put a SS screw in so you can see it clearly. I took he panel out, checked for the best place to drill and then used the tiny racket to put the screws in. Bingo! Hope this helps.

Genius! Mine has been rattling for ages. I didn't think I'd be able to screw it down due to the windscreen. But racketing it is a great idea!
