Car is GP 1.4. Coming home late last night, about half a mile from home I hit a small pothole and the alarm siren started going off! I stopped, switched car off, tried locking/unlocking with key fob, siren still sounding. Started the car again & drove home - the only way I could stop it was to disconnect the battery earth. The lights were not flashing, it was the siren only. This happened once before, probably about 6 months ago, (same thing, siren only), but I don't think there was a bump or pothole involved. On this occasion I also disconnected the battery, reconnected it after an hour or so and all was ok, until now!
I'm wondering if I can just remove the fuse for the alarm system? Or is there a shock sensor of some sort that I can disconnect first, just to make the alarm less sensitive? Obviously, it shouldn't go off at all whilst driving!
Any ideas?
Thanks!

This is an aftermarket kit so you have to check the manual for your system.

For example the alarm system of my car is one from gemini (obd version).
Siren and box are on the engine bay but the shock sensor is inside the cabin.

Thanks for that. I found a booklet with fitting instructions for the alarm. It says META M7199us/8199us. Just wondering if this is just an alarm, or is it also an immobiliser? If it's just an alarm, I'm thinking that I could just disconnect it? Car is kept on private driveway and doesn't get used much anyway, so I'm not bothered about having an alarm. Just don't want it going off randomly!

The Meta M7199 is an aftermarket alarm kit. It includes a shock sensor that would trigger the alarm if someone hit the car.

It's likely that some of the original car wiring would have been cut to join the kit wiring in. If you remove the kit, you will need to rejoin the original wiring.
