Hi all!

I have a Fiat Grande Punto 1.4 semi automatic 57 plate, it died yesterday but after my mechanic jumped the battery the car started but now has check transmission warning and the check transmission symbol constantly flashing. It will not go into any gear and is just stuck in neutral.

Ive read through a few posts where people have had similar problems but they all have different advice

Please can someone give me a list of possible causes/solutions or if anyone else has had the same problems id be very grateful to hear your outcomes.

Thanks in advance!

Does the pump start when you open the driver's door ?

Mine had the same issue and it was a combination of two problems; a burned fuse and low automatic transmission fluid.

For the burned fuse, see this image

. This fuse box is next to the battery.

Otherwise, many users recommend running diagnostics with the multiecuscan software, but you would need appropriate ELM327 connectors --- I have not done this yet so cannot recommend.

it sounds like it's just the sensors in a knot from yesterdays breakdown,
rather than anything physically broken / wornout

for CHEAP ,
I'd disconnect the battery, check the fuses,
then after a couple of hours reconnect the battery.., something MAY reset after the reboot,

there is a 500 person in sevenoaks.. but of course thats a way if yours doesn't drive..
