Hi guys! This is my first car so I don't have much clue at all.
I brought a fiat grande punto in August and only managed to insure it last month so I've barely driven it. Anyway I was in slow moving traffic uphill one day and I was revving the hell out of the car just for it to move forward and it took a lot. It started to smoke I had to get across the roundabout and pull over quickly the smell was awful.
I drove it today for the first time in a while literally a 10 minute drive to the shop and i put some petrol in it and pulling out of the petrol station I stalled three times. I have to lift the clutch up so high and accelerate loads just for it to move off.
The burning smell was back again also just after a small journey
It's going to the garage on Monday and I'm crapping it as I can't really afford to much and have a £500 budget. Do you think it will just need a new clutch?

Thanks

Hi, :)
get a couple of garages to look at it , and quote..,
then come back to us for guidance.

what engine..? ,
how many miles covered..??

it could just be worn out.., or even not bedded in properly(not uncommon)

the stink is from it spinning / slipping - not necessarily from contamination.

where is the car based ? - as labour rates vary hugely..,
Charlie - Oxford

Thanks for the replies! My mums boyfriend checked it over a few weeks ago and noticed some oil leaking but I didn't think anything of it.
It's a 1.4 and it's done 97k the garage are collecting it on Monday as Im not driving it again until it's fixed.
I'm just worried about being ripped off do you know how much I'd be looking at roughly. I'm in Coventry :)
