Hi can any one help ? My daughters 08 Punto Grande, is no longer able to engage any gears, she was driving when this happened and had to stop the car.
we managed to get the car home by manually turning the gear selector on the side of the gear box and were able to get home using just one gear. On further inspection the next day we noticed while the gears lever was changed from gear to gear without the engine running, the selector paddle on the side of the gear box only moved in and out with no side ways movement which looks like it would need to do to engage a gear, could this be a cable problem even though they appear to be connected, any helpful advice much appreciated
