I have an 07 grande punto , for the last day when i turn my steering wheel left or right it clunks wvwn when stationary! The only time i havent noticed the clunk is while driving straight or turning at a speed whether this may be that i jist havent noticed it, it kinda sounds like it is coming from the front wheel but ita definetly to do with my steering plzzz help

It may be the top mount bearings, v. common.

Top mount bearing failure will sound like a series of 'clangs' or clicks as the spring twists, rather than grinding.

To confirm if there's a bad top mount, CAREFULLY place your hand on the spring while someone turns the wheel to full lock either way. You will feel the spring click if the bearing is bad.

Wrt cost it'll be 1-2 hours labour plus around 20 per bearing so 120-150 ish if having both done

Wouldn't rule out, ball joints or track rod ends or engine mount and wishbone bushes.

Jack the car up and have a route about, I had the same issue with a Renault Clio, clunking/knocking in the end it was both ball joints, loads of play in them

Good luck??????
