This is my t jet undergoing heart surgery after owning for a week. The quickest delivered engine I could source was from an abarth 595 auto but managed to swap the parts needed to fit. Also swapped the vl38 for a 36 as I read it's better and had one one the shelf. The car pulls really well now and need to upgrade tyres at some point. Found that the new engines sump has crack and slow leak. Noticed it has a forge intercooler. Haven't been pushing it too hard as fans not working. I have some questions I hope can be answered.

What Hp is the engine I fitted rated at?

Is it normal for clutch to be really light but correct travel and biting point? Do I need to get used to it like the electric steering maybe

Has no cat but the engine light doesn't come on, why?

Number of engine bay earths and locations? Found a single broken one with the others by the screen washer point

Recommended tyres?

Expected reliability?

New owner tips?

Thanks

Hey
From what I believe the engine you have fitted from the Abarth should be around 155hp although on standard internals these engines can take a round 240-250 Hp if fitted with the right supporting modifications .
It's normal for the clutch to be light in these vehicles they are fitted with concentric slave cylinders meaning the real ease bearing is also the slave cylinder no indirect linkage reducing the effort and giving smooth operation probably why it's lighter than your used to.
The cat might be just under the manifold or a few things could have happened ...
Decat pipe fitted with sensors fitted and it's not reading far enough out of scope to bring a warning on although highly unlikely .
Ecu has been reprogrammed to not monitor the oxygen levels in the exhaust hense no warning probably more likely.
Or lastly a full stand alone fuel management system has been fitted although I would also highly doubt this more than likely the Bosch unit has just been remapped.
You will find a lot of earth points / a strap going onto the side of the gearbox.
Regards
Mac

Thanks for replying. must be the programming as the there's no emulators. It also seems to peak power at 4K. I ask about the earths as I obviously put back all the one removed from the engine loom and rad loom but noticed a few that were broken on car and couldn't find where they went.

Does anyone know the correct heater matrix pipe routing?as mine looked wrong so switched them round so the pipe bends make sense but unsure
