Hey Guys

I'm officially a member now (yaa Boiii):slayer:.
However I am not technically new on here. My dad has a Cinq he refuses to let go of and unfortunately hes passed on his disease......the love of Fiats:bang::cry:. So I went and bought myself a 1.3 Mjet Grande Punto 06. Before I bought the car I was pleased with it initially on the test run until it started to go into limp mode. Being the idiot I am I saw this as a bargening chip and decided to buy the car for £550. it was just on 91K. I have always grown up around cars so I thought I would be able to have a go and fix it my self......(y)....... Bet you know where this is going. It went south really fast(n). I might as well have bought myself a shiny rock. it would have been cheaper to look at. To be fair being the rebel/idiot I am I drove it 10k miles (motorway) in about 5 months with it constantly going into limp mode very often then added 5k of pure horror. so I decided 2 weeks ago to get my act into order and fix her up.

Problem 1

Clunking/rattling when accelerating and decelerating, grinding when engine breaking ie slowing down without pressing brakes.

Fix
New Dmf, clutch, input shaft bearing. Done these myself while the car was on Jack stands. would not recommend it, the space is really tight and you will need a few hands to put the gearbox back onto the car. I managed to get a deal on parts and all in the job cost me about £280ish. :slayer::slayer:

Problem 2
No power AT ALL!!! turbo was not kicking in after the first 8kmiles and It was basically a N/A diesel wearing a turbo as jewellry, it looked pretty but was pretty useless.

Fix
New boost solenoid and new Map sensor. searched for air leaks on whole system, chechked the whole intake and attempted to pull of the EGR but that failed, I just sprayed a cleaner and cleaned the Intake runner and piping as well as the throttle body. again space is at a premium so its hard to get access to most parts. total cost £60ish

Problem 3 (still working on)
I have a code p0601 which means a new ECU but scr*w that it works fine just have engine management on I will fix it later:p:D.

Anyway I wouldn't count myself as knowledgeable but I managed to get the car back to its former Glory, next on my list will be my dads CINQ, Its nice to be part of the forum (finally) and hopefully I can lend a hand when others need help.
