Hi guys,

Looking for your help with a front end knock I'm having on my 06 1.9 GP remapped to ~175 BHP thats is at 113K miles.

The knocking is present under hard ish acceleration at lower speeds which is worse when cornering, a good example is a brisk pull away from a T junction. It can also happen over pot holes and when aggressively engaging/disengaging the clutch.

I know it is not the following:
- drop links (replaced)
- lower engine mount (replaced)
- half shafts (worked as a halfshaft engineer for 4 years)
I have also checked the bushes and not seen anything obvious.

please let me know what you are thinking the issue could be, any suggestions are appreciated!!

Cheers all,

Rob

Have you checked the Suspension top mounts might be a good place to start !
Let me know how you get on ?

Thank for the suggestion I will have a look.

I have replaced the top mount bearings some time ago - what are you thinking? loose nuts?

cheers, Rob

Hi Rob
Could possibly be loose nuts try and tighten them may help put your mind to rest the bearings are a fairly common issue as well so may be worth double checking them too.
Other than that with the noise being through heavy engagement of drive and round corners it would lead me to possibly suggest worn Cv joint or joints on the driveshafts maybe ?
Regards
Mac
