Evening all,

Went and started my car, 1.2L 56 Grande Punto, as normal yesterday evening after it been parked for around 14 hours at work. The engine warning light on the dash remained on, turned it off and tried again but remained on once again and has done since.

Anyway, drove home as normal and didn't notice anything different. Pulled up turned it off etc and got out. As I'm walking away I noticed it was still making a noise, opened bonnet and the large fan at front was still rotating. This to me sounds like the problem, as I've not noticed it before. It remained on for around a minute after I'd switched the engine off.

Also today when driving I noticed the temperature of the engine on the gauge was still down at the bottom. This goes up to around the middle after around 2 mile max yet I'd done approx 15 and it still hadnt moved.

Recently had the car serviced and put it through its MOT, checked coolant etc just to make sure it was about right which it was.

Any ideas on what the problem could be? Thanks for any replies in advance.

IDEAS YES, :D
but without getting the stored fault code, we'd just be guessing..,

GUESSING = temp sensor failure.., but could well be wiring.., :bang:

look in the FAQ's at top of GP section;)
