I currently own a punto mk2 1.2 8v but looking to change to a GP in the next couple of weeks if I can get the car for the right price.

I am hoping to get some advice prior though. The car in question is as follows:

lady owner for the last 4 years

My biggest concern is that I have heard the gearboxes on these are terrible but have also heard that they aren't too bad.

I just want to get some more opinion on these and what causes the GB to go bad, what can be done to prevent this etc. I would like to tune the car a little but not over board really so car may get a remap but a modest one.

Any advice on this model would be much appreciated before I go ahead with the purchase.
