Hi,

It seems that the exhaust on my '08 t-jet is soon to need replacement. I still have the factory exhaust it seems, it is all in one piece from the downpipe onwards and has only the end muffler, so no mid silencer.

As it turns out, finding an after market replacement is not so easy, especially in my country of residence where Fiats are not very popular. But I did find IMASAF exhaust for t-jet, see the pic. This one is in two pieces and has the middle muffler.

Three questions:

1. In a drive-way repair situation - will the old exhaust come out in one piece, or will I have to cut it for extraction?

2. Will the middle silencer fit without a problem if there isn't one at the moment (or is there... not I am not so sure).

3. What can I expect in terms of noise level when I replace the factory exhaust with the one in the attachment? It is a family car, and I want it to stay as calm as possible.

Ok, so I peeked under the car. There is of course the mid muffler :wall: and most certainly it will not come out in one piece without taking the rear beam out.

Question 3. still stands though.

When the car is up and supported the rear beam should drop slightly giving more room to manoeuvre the old exhaust out.. May take some turning to get it to drop over the rear beam but it is possible.. If you struggle then it doesn't take much to run a hacksaw through the exhaust..

When it comes to sound it should be the same if not a little quieter being new so long as its all secure and not blowing from the downpipe..

Good luck.
