First of all i want to say how happy i am that i found this forum because these cars dont seem to have a cult following like others .
So lets start things off , im George and i drive a 2007 grande punto 1.4 8v . I picked up the car last year in october with good service history and a single owner . Since then i drove it a lot and fell in love with it , its an absolute joy for me to look out the window and see this cute little thing out there , but i do have some things i am dissapointed about .
ITS SLOW ! Like really slow but at least it makes nice noises and its very comfortable .
Gear ratios are **** , were talking 4000 rpm in 5 th gear at 120 km/h
So far the car has wheels and tyres and a better sound system but i want to ask you guys this :

Can i make it a 6 speed ? What boxes from what models will bolt on ?
Can i swap over the 16 valve head ? If so what supporting mods would i need ?
And lastly , does anyone know if the 1.4 abarth has the same engine block ? Because registering an engine swap in denmark is a nightmare and a waste of time so i was thinking to gather up the resources to turn it into a 4 door abarth .

So since the last post the car got new brake pads ,tie rods and an oil change . I took out the back seat and gave it a wash and the front seats will get new textile so the interior is 100%fresh .
Things left to do :
- new brake discs front
- new brakes in the back ( drums )
- broken air intake
- sport exhaust
- various plastic trim
- coilovers
- 6 spd gearbox

Im a bit dissapointed that nobody had any info on the gearbox swap but meh such is life . Ill be back with more as soon as i have more .
