Hi there I am new to this forum, have been searching threads to see if others are having random electrical issues with their grande punto that I have been having recently.

It started off when I was away and my neighbours noticed the car lights coming on and off intermittently despite being locked, so when I home obviously battery flat and needed a jump start since then

Headlights come on despite all switches off and key not in ignition but not tail lights

Front near head side bulb blown,

When side lights on and Dipped beam selected goes straight to full beam

Within seconds of switching engine on and starts 3 secs after horn comes on and sounds continuously

Took it to garage for exam and they have ruled out fuse box problems but can't explain what could be causing these issues, They are now proposing to replace unit in steering column which controls light, wiper and horn at a cost of around 500£. But not sure if this wil cure issues and wonder if anyone can help

Hi, and welcome, :)
sounds like it could be the fusebox like here..
https://www.fiatforum.com/grande-pu...-nightmare-water-fusebox-horn-lights-etc.html

of IF it's bone dry then maybe the stalk,
either good used one, - if you are fitting yourself:)
or a genuine new one via Shop4parts as suggested,
FF members get a 10% discount;)

TBH - I'd not pay garage labour rates to fit a used one,
as bills would soon escalate if it's faulty..,

however new parts will be guaranteed, so a safer bet.., :)

do let us know how it goes,(y)
