I drove my punto yesterday morning and parked it up no problem starting or driving. Went back yesterday afternoon the car would not unlock using the remote which I thought was a bit strange so opened it with the key put the key in the ignition and nothing no dash lights courtesy lights totally dead. I have checked the battery that's fine any suggestions please

Do any electrics work e.g. headlights?

Have you checked the wires from the battery to the car especially the earth leads as they have a habit of corroding at the car body end

Get a multimeter and check battery voltage for a start, then check connections. As said above could be bad connections.

Check terminals are tight and they crimped on tight.
