I have a punto grande 1.4 2009, my break lights aren't working...I change the lights as one had blown but they don't come on at all unless the headlights are on and then they just stay on...I've cleaned the connectors as well :/ HELPPPP

did you double check the bulb HAD BLOWN,?
and that the replacement is correct for the car..;)

modern electrics are "intelligent" and can do weird things if the ECU / "computer" doesn't get feedback it was expecting..,

No, if I'm honest I just got a generic set of bulbs and used that, so you think it's worth looking up the correct bulb?

They must be in correctly because there lighting up ..surely?? But they only light up when the headlights are on they seem to be doubling up as rear lights alongside my actual rear lights and a message on the dash saying...check stopping lights?

Hahaha I think I've bought single element bulbs...u r a legend ill be dragging myself to Halford now hahaha what an idiot :/

I've just put me regarding into the halfords site and it brings up single filament bulbs...are the definatly twin filament? Thanks

so - was the original still good..??

it's the bulb check system that's flagging up a fault..of some kind,
how did you access the bulbs..??,
did you see any corrosion on the contacts.? bulb holders AND connector blocks

Well the bulb I changed wasn't light in up and is now....but obviously not correctly, yea there was some rust on the connector but I cleaned them up, I accessed them through the tail lights, where is the earth ...could it be something to do with that?

When I turn the lights on the break lights light up with the rear lights there not working as break lights if that make sense?

They're RU380's in GP's. They should be around £1.50 for one bulb. Hope this helps. :)
