After weeks of LCD display working intermittently, some days it will be fine, others days its completely blank and some days with letters making no sense. The blue and me still works fine I can still call people through voice command and navigate through my music library luckily I left it on play any!!
I was just wondering if anybody has suffered and solved a similar issue.
Its not a massive issue but I like being able to see my mileage and music library etc... (n)
Thanks in advance for any help!
Chris

Check the above link. I had same issue and have posted the fix on there.

LCD screens don't like the damp.

Try running the car with the heater up high and the windows slightly open. This will tend to dry the inside of the car, and should bring the screen back to life.

It may take a few long runs to do this, and if you leave your car outside in wet conditions that will get the car damper, which won't help... alternatively, take the dashboard out and put it in a hot airing cupboard for a day. But just drying the car out with the heater is easier - though longer...

Hi , just found this thread, mine started displaying weird things in the cluster last night , I'll try the fix myself if it gets worse but one thing I'd like to know is how do the clock needles come off ?

They just pull off only held on with friction but!!!

And it’s a big but!

Don’t do it, you’ll never get the needles right again

Ah , so if I take them off they'll never go correct again ?

You could mark their positions before taking them off just to be sure.
I had mine off to change the LCD recently and didn't mark them, and it seems fine tbh. I should read the live values out with MES and compare, but not got round to it. I think the stepper motors reset themselves back to zero when the cluster gets power.
You can see in this video they wind them off, which is what I did - , so original position is lost quite easily.

Thank you , so to take them off you wound them anti clock wise and then they just pull off ? If I push them back on in the position I took them off at then they should be ok ?

yeah i sort of wiggled them off, they are on quite tight but do just pull straight up, they're not on a thread so the anticlockwise winding isn't strictly necessary. You can pull off the centre caps first, that helps get a grip on them a bit better with that out the way, it's just a plastic cover that sits on top.
i pointed them all back to "zero" before reassembling like in the video. had a check earlier and they all seem to be pointing where they should be !

you might also find this helpful. it's for a Linea but very similar process, i didn't need to undo the screws for the steering column cover however

Thanks , just wondering if putting power to the back of the dash before putting the needles back on would set the spindles at zero , tbh I'll use long nose pliers and lift the needle off when I end up doing it
