Does anyone know if haynes are going to bring out a haynes manual for the diesel version of the grande punto.

There is no Haynes, Bentley or elearn, it's very frustrating, I have the same car and have done, servicing, brakes, egr clean, rear wheel bearings, cam belt, water pump, tensioner, inlet manifold gaskets, so if you want to swop info/ stories you are welcome. I have searched the Internet, Alfa forums, my friend even checked his work data base for anything 955A3000 related, nothing, half the battle is knowing what fits from other GPs I reckon there are so few of these that a single thread would be perfect to consolidate info if some one has a manual I would love it.

Your so right, there's no info at all, I was looking into cleaning the egr valve but it looks a bit of a nightmare to get out being at the back, also need information on the turbo side of things.

I think it's all a question of approach, if you just pop out to clean the egr valve then it's is a nightmare, but if you set aside plenty of time and go at it slowly it's mechanically simple but tight ImageUploadedByFIAT Forum1453471580.379919.jpg in space terms, there's only two bolts and the electrical connector, there is also the link pipe with two Allen bolts on the bottom and 3 10mm bolts on the top, the egr valve was fitted with two T30 torx, my inlet manifold literally had 3mm of gunk all over the inside and all associated parts, I cleaned them all back to as new and you can feel the difference, I think if it's preventative maintenance then the inlet valve, egr, manifold and pipe work should be done, if it's a fault rectification that's different, mines 6 years old with 74k and FSH until I got it and it was filthy internally, I doubt anything would break down the filth, I used carb cleaner on the egr and inlet butterfly but white spirit and the jet wash on my inlet, with sensor removed from inlet, it all came off but it took me two fairly solid days, I think I could do it in one session now but I was doing it blind to start with, I made a tool to allow the fuel pump to be removed keeping the timing belt in place, ImageUploadedByFIAT Forum1453472302.670404.jpg this is a metal plate with wood attached, the FP sprocket could then be bolted to the backplate. If I did it again I could confidently not mark the timing, remove aux belt, crank pulley etc but I did just in case, the tool fits snugly and the sprocket didn't move at all( laterally I mean) so the FP went straight back, it has a roll pin not woodruff key so no falling out when taking it off, I have heard some have a key though, the whole fuel system self bleed on assembly on cranking, don't know much specifically about this turbo but understand the principles

Thanks for the information, nice one, can I just take the egr off by itself or do I have to take other parts off too.

The egr and link pipe will come off independently, you can get your arm behind the manifold easily enough, if you use a mirror you can see it all before you put tools down there, it's worth being prepared to remove the under tray from the engine bay, as you can bet your arm you will drop some stuff down there and it lets more natural light in.

Ok thanks that's another job on the list i need to have a look at. Need to sort my turbo out first it's not kicking in, I'm getting a message saying my dpf is clogged so that could be why my turbo is not kicking in.

Now there's a topic with hundreds of threads, it always needs a good run every month, it needs to complete the full regen cycle to clear the dpf, there's no shortage of info on here.

The yellow triangle warning light comes on for 20 seconds then goes off after starting the car everytime

And I have the engine light on all the time, my scanner says it's the turbo boost position sensor at fault, don't know if it's the dpf putting it in limb mode

I don't know if I have one problem or two if it's the sensor fiat will only sell me the sensor with the turbo which is nearly £800.
