Hi guys,

I have an 06 plate Grande Punto Active Sport. Owned it a few months and all has been well and dandy. Drove it last night no problems but went out to it this morning and it won't start.

There's no clicking or turning over at all but lights come on strong, horn and central locking all working etc.

I have attached a pic of the lights that are on the dashboard and wondered if anyone had any advice as to what it could be? Is it still possible battery problems or I have read it could be starter motor/fuses/earthing problems?

Any help is massively appreciated as I need to get to Birmingham Friday and I'm carless as it stands.

Cheers :)

Check your battery, even if the lights etc works fine.

Most of the time that's the problem.

Cheers guys.

Have just been out and had another look. I connected jump leads to the negative and the engine side as you mentioned and got nothing.

Also tried the headlights and turning it over to see if they dimmed down and all and nothing.

I had the bonnet up and can hear a slight click from the car when turning over which suggests the starter motor is trying to turn which would then suggest the immobiliser isn't the prob as surely it wouldn't even tick slightly?

Should I still stick with battery as the main possible cause? The main concern for me is the immobiliser light being on but obviously there could be a 1000 reasons it's routing back to that.

When you have immobilizer problems the engine is cranking but there is no spark etc along with the keypad light.

Check battery.
