Hello,

So I've had my Fiat Grande Punto GP 2009 for over a week now. I noticed the warning light on my dash so I had a look over the forums and people had said it's possible that a light is out. Checked the car and noticed that my left side light was out so I ordered a new bulb and fitted it a moment ago.

Turn the car on and no warning light until I switch my lights on and then it's back. So I'm certain it's nothing else apart from the light. Can anyone explain why the warning light hadn't gone off even though I've replaced the bulb?

Just for your information, I replaced both side lights and also both headlights. I did notice that the right headlights metal clamp was broken off so I've had to push the light in as best I could before putting the rubber cap back on.

Cheers in advance!

Sometimes is a bulb on the edge of beeing faulty, yet it still burns. I would suggest that you check the bcm for light related fault. If there are none, a software update might do the trick

I've had the same thing with my new grande punto 09 this week. All the light worked, or so I thought. After another look in the manual I realized that the middle light in the rear cluster is the normal rear light (while the lower one is both a normal and a brake light), and it wasn't on! After changing them, the error dissapeared.

The body computer also had a couple of ground errors, but I assume they were there because of the lights. It would be ineteresting if you could check whatever you have them too.

Thanks for the replies. Thanks Martin, I've checked my lights and you're correct. The two middle bulbs of the rear cluster aren't turning on.

I'll get a couple of bulbs and have them fitted and will update the results on this thread.

Cheers

Just for you guys and anyone reading this - the connections on the rear lights often get thrashed with water and become rusty thus producing random results for lights. (Atleast it did for me and 2 other people i know anyway). If there's a good autoelectrician near you get them to solder the connections. I paid £15 per side and have not had to replce a bulb/unit since.

It's funny with the middle bulbs in the rear cluster -
I don't think many people are aware they are supposed to light. I was on a longer trip yesterday and I saw 2 GP's without these lights on (only the bottom light on).

I'm not better myself. I've almost started measuring voltage drops, but after checking the wiring schematics I could see they were connected. Also it's pretty clear if you check the manual :bang:

Replaced the two middle bulbs in the rear clusters and this resolved the problem!
