Visited McConechy's on Saturday because my brakes were squeaking and also had a knocking noise when going over bumps. I had had that problem before so I had a pretty good idea it was a drop link. Anyway it was confirmed to a problem with the drop link and that there was nothing wrong with the brakes but they gave them a clean and grease.

Took the car in again today to get the drop link done and walked out £162 poorer.

Apparently £60 of that was getting the brakes done...

The last time I got a drop link done it was at a fiat specialist and cost a fraction of that price.

Can someone confirm this is extortionate?

Wow, that is absolutely ridiculous and to be honest, something you could of probably done yourself, i usually get a pair off ebay for something like 9.95 and then just do it myself! Id be a raging bull if anyone tried to charge me that

:yeahthat:

£12-£15 for a pair when I last done it on our old Stilo, took no more than 30 min while on the driveway, if in the air could have been done in about 10-15min.

However you pays your money, did you shop about before hand or just take it to one place and tell them to do it

As above, a pair of basic drop links are only £10.
Took me about an hour on the drive way because I'm an ape with minimal tools!
Should take a professional 10 minutes on a lift.
