Hi everyone , new to this, I have recently bought a 1.3 multijet gp , great car looking to have a few mods done before christmas, I have 2 problems with the car at the moment just wondering if anyone can help....

1st problem) the handbrake light is on the majority of the time even though the handbrake is off

2nd problem) when starting the car i get a warning saying 'brake fluid level insufficient dont proceed, even though there is plenty of brake fluid in.....

can anyone help?

Thanks in advance!
Ben

You generally get the break fluid warning when the battery is poor.

Take to your local and they will test the battery or as a first point check the connections at your battery terminals and make sure they are clean.

As for your other I am unsure but sounds like a sensor.

Handbrake light (!) is also a "low brake fluid" warning, so it's related to the the message you see.

If you have indeed the correct level of fluid then it's a bad sensor.

Of Course check your battery etc... You never know!

When you say 'plenty of fluid' is it up to the maximum mark.
Whilst there may be plenty of fluid is there enough to operate the level switch.

Yeah its 3/4 full , been to the garage, they said as long as it drives and brakes fine that there isnt a problem, its just a dodgy light. I dont understand why they wouldnt want to fix it though...

Thanks for the reply, the battery has been tested and is completely fine
