I'm just wondering if anyone has installed a chip on their grande? Is there any dangers on putting these on and do they really work? Apparently the one I'm looking at which is £75 puts the bhp upto 156!

Dont bother... the gearbox on the 1.9 mjet is crap, you will only destroy it faster with the tuned engine

I disagree, if it's going to go, it'll go I don't think 20 odd extra bhp will kill it much quicker

There's a couple of tuning boxes that increase bhp by 30 or 40 around for the same price. It could be worth looking at a remap instead

I'd go for a remap tbh as they're untraceable I wouldn't get too hung up on power quotes. Mine is remapped with a straight through exhaust (no cat) and egr blank and ran 192bhp /400nm some. A lad one the rolling road day I went had his car remapped with a printout supposed to be 185bhp but was 168bhp.. Figures are easily manipulated.

Forgot to say, its the same box in VXRs that run over 300bhp
