Ok I got my car back from getting brake master cylinder changed a week and a bit ago. Brakes been working fine but my car is making a sucking air sound now, that it wasn't before, when accelerating and sometimes drops power for a second when driving (bit intermittent but annoying). I decided to have a look under the hood today and see if they had done something to it so I had to bring it back in. Well I found this bracket not mounted to anything. It is behind the engine near the master cylinder and the cable out the left side goes across the engine on the left hand side. On the bracket there is a cable. The cable was loose and the yellow clip not home. Does anyone know where this is meant to be mounted and what the cable does (is it being loose related to any of the drops in power etc.

Taking it back to the garage tomorrow to see what they are playing at but wanted a heads up before I go.

Cheers

not 100% sure, but check the hoses from the BIG cylinder( brake servo) as that'll explain the "sucking sound" = Vacuum..,

take it back to the cowboys who did this half-a-job,

by Big cylinder do you mean the pot with the 2 pipes out the top. Had a look at them and both pipes are securely all the way down. Had a drive and kept my foot steady on the accelerator, listening to the sucking and its after a certain amount of time (4- 6 seconds) that it starts to sputter and lose power. At that exact moment sucking stops. Its like its sucking in air and the air becomes too much and stalls the power.

If you could include pictures to guide me as to what parts you mean that would be great.

Thanks in advance.

What type car have you got? If its a diesel or a 1.4 tjet then check that your turbo pipe isn't loose (this can cause loss of power at times, happened to me). As for the noise sounds like a air pipe has split somewhere.
