Hi all :)

I have GP 1.4L 8V Duallogic 2007, done 68K km.
I like to drive at high Revs and every 6m~year I clean the TB from oil .
this time my BREATHER HOSE needed replacement and I got the new model that fills like silicon, I made small hole and sealed the old connector and now no more oil can enter to the TB, what do you think? now the BREATHER HOSE end is ~50mm higher so its less likely that the oil can get out, I will continue to check if everything is OK next month.

and finally- why the Hell Fiat engineers choose to place the air filter box on the hottest spot on top of the exhaust??? I get almost 40C hotter air in the intake over the ambient temp! look what it does to the plastic:

Well the point is to return oil fumes back to the engine to burn them.

Now you will get an oily filter / box.

Yes I know, the fumes will go to engine, about oily filter- I noticed that the oil must get above 10mm at least to reach the paper area- this is a lot of oil so I will see in 1 month how much oil escaped.
you need to consider that at stock the higher difference between the breather ends was ~40mm, now its over 80mm - this will make it very hard for the oil to escape.

what is your solution for this problem? I saw a lot of GP with the TB full of oil, the breather always wet with oil, I think this is design flow.

The ultimate solution to excessive oil fumes is to install an oil catch can.

I don't know 8v engine well but I think it lacks an oil seperator. This could help a lot from the begining.

you are right, but I wanted "Free" solution + in my country any car mod is illegal - even installing Cold air intake :-(.

so installing Oil catch can was my last option.

Update: after driving at 5000~6000 RPM I am happy to say that it works! no oil in the air box!.

Now- last week I have noticed some piston slap noise from button left side of the engine(Not my car! just to illustrate):

yesterday I did water injection method to clean the engine and now its smooth and quite :)
Have you tried this method to clean the engine?

I don't like the idea. All these carbon deposits go on valves or piston walls and if you are lucky to get them past valves you have a nice blocked catalyst.

I don't even think it can increase performance.

Try to clean your map sensor, I bet it's covered in oil too.

Also try not to drive so hard because it seems that your engine has excessive blow-by already.
