I know there are several threads on this but didn't see a decent photo, Here's one. The 4 connectors need proper cleaning. Open boot manually by finding small lever on left side of lock (when viewed from the back seat looking in), open boot lid, taken out screw in "pull down" recess, carefully unclip the cover, undo 2 10mm bolts and remove lock, disconnect, retreat to somewhere comfortable and fiddle with the plastic cover on the lock, there are several little plastic clips than can break easily. Remove cover, the 4 connectors on the right need to be cleaned properly, I used fine wet and dry then coated with vaseline, All works perfectly now. No need to buy a new one!
