What are the main differences between these ? Insurance quotes come through quite cheap for both so surprisingly affordable.

The T-jet is essentially a turbocharged version of the 1.4 16v, performance is much better. Otherwise they are the same car.

If insurance is similar go for a T-jet

1.4 16v Sporting - 95bhp

1.4 T-Jet - 120bhp

As you say insurance is very reasonable for both- I went for the T-Jet rather than the Sporting because it has the 5 speed gearbox not the 6 speed like the Sporting- The 6 speeds have a terrible reputation for failure...

Agreed. T-jets have a more reliable gearbox and more power, plus should hold their value better
