Hi All

This is probably a pretty daft question, but on the bulb holder there is 4 pins, the 3rd pin is slightly rusty and my brake light doesnt work, although the normal light works on the same bulb!

Does the 3rd pin work the brake light?

Im gonna stick abit of rust remover on it tmorro and see how it goes, just wanted confirmation really that that is where the problem lies

Couldn't say yes but cleaning it up will do it some good. Best bet after you've cleaned it try the brakes and get someone check the light for you (or in the dark push brakes when stopped an you should see it for yourself if it can reflect of something)

Thanks cobalt01 iv left abit of rust remover gel on it while im at work! Il check tonight how it goes and fingers crossed it will work!

Mine corroded, caused by the rear window wash pipe being cut open, by opening and closing the boot.
My local auto electrician sandblasted the pins and white connector plug. Failing that get another bulb holder and connector from the local scrapyard.
