So a while ago I posted about this, still havent fit the hoses as its not been too bad and had nowhere to do it. Decided its time to seize the day now that we have more daylight hours. I think ive tracked down my boost leak, or a boost leak on hose 3 of the schematic at the top there is oil stain where it connects to the hard hose part 4.

I bought some silicone hoses that KBonnie recommened, I will fit the after turbo hose when i get round to it as its in good condition but id like it get this sorted before i visit tune4performance this weekend to have the EGR mapped out.

TLDR, will the 45 degree silicone fit part 3 on the schematic? Ive offered it up and it seems like it will but the hose isnt quite as long by probably 10mm. Wondering if anyone has done or knows someone that has done (maybe Reuuk ?) this before for part 3 before I unclip the nasty OEM hose thats there at the moment.

IIRC when I swapped mine over for the Forge replacement it was slightly shorter and it was a real pita to get to fit.

my advice would be to get some Jubilee clips that you can replace those nasty fiat ones with, get the old pipe off and see what the new pipe sits like.
(^^ this is what I would do)

from memory the pipe slides quite far up the hard pipe anyway so you might be able to get away with it being slightly sorter. just make sure you tighten it up fully!

I do think a 45d pipe might be too much though? I can't remember sorry.

Reuuk Thanks for that, yeah ive measured and measured again and theoretically it should fit but like you say the 45 degree bend might be too much, it might be better suited to a 30 degree or even 40. I have all the bits and the jubilee clips etc so tommorow i will just replace the clips and leave the OEM pipe in unless the Silicone one fits. Thats the problem with having to drive the car everyday you cant just take everything apart haha.

How do you get the nasty fiat clips off, do you just lever a screwdriver in and they come loose? why they dont use normal stainless jubilees i dont know.

if I'm honest I'm not sure, luckily for me I had access to an airline and a cutting disc hehe. but get some snips on it and see how it goes!

I would say its more 35 myself also.. fit what you have got and see what its like :)

alternatively you could always wrap the original in allot of duct tape until you get one that will fit right?

Ok mate cheers for that. I will probably go down the duct tape bodge route to see if it is leaking or if the oil is old before buying another silicone hose.

if its not sorted by Brooklands I will try and get a scan done at the booth to see if desired air / boost pressure etc is all as it should be.

might as well :) as far as I'm aware we are planning on having the multi ecu scan again :) Might throw my laptop in the boot also just incase :)
