Ok so I just got my grande punto 1.4 t-jet 09 plate. Love it! I was cleaning and had music on in it, and silly me drained the battery.... Now I come to jumpy start it and a mate did it for me, thing is his car didn't have colour coded terminals soooo he has gone ahead and guessed.... And supprisingly he got it wrong. Now he swapped it over and it started fine as it should. I was sat in it with the engine running and noticed my radio wouldn't turn on, neither would my air con or recirculation. Also the mileage had been flashing sine the battery died. I've looked at all the fuses I can get to, what else could it be ?! Id rather not have to fork out £60 for just diagnosis but it's looking likely I'll have to(n)
Any help much appreciated thanks

You are lucky you don't have to replace every ecu on the car.

I hope you can get away with a simple proxy alignment.

How can you be sure I won't have to replace Ecus ? How much would that cost? & what it a proxy alignment ? Would it fix the radio and that as well?

Thanks

Well actually... I'm not. But since the engine is running probably the engines' ecu is fine.

Check all fuses. Both places (engine fusebox and in glove box) Make sure every fuse is ok first.

Yeah I bloody hope so only bight the car last week! & I've looked at the fuses (number 5 ones as the user manual said that's linked to radio and auto climate control) and from the ones i can get to they all look alright :S would you reccommend checking every fuse ?

Not sure what a DAMP Is could you explain ? & the fuse box was perfectly fine before the jump start and the covers attached as normal :/

The flashing mileage and radio will be due to the cars battery being disconnected for some length of time. A proximity alignment (where can bus and the radio get synced) should hopefully stop the flashing. Radio may need a code to get it on again (not sure) an as for air rec not sure. If only just got the car may be under warranty from where you got it from so worth seeing them to look at it
